Scanning Procedures for Creating Master Images
AlabamaMosaic Project
- Scan item at 600 ppi. Output type: true color for photographs & manuscripts, grayscale for printed matter
- Adobe Photoshop will automatically open the file. Do not alter or edit the image.
- Save the master image as a Tif file (read only) to the Mac hardrive in the “Master Images” folder.
- Name the files in sequential order using the 8-digit file-naming scheme (ex: 00000352.tif).
- At the end of the day move the files in batches to Libsnap
