Scanning Procedures for Creating Intermediate and Access Images
AlabamaMosaic Project
- Open Master Image in Adobe Photoshop
- Straighten and crop image, if necessary
- Adjust contrast and color, if necessary
- Reduce resolution of image to 300 ppi. Save image as a jpeg file. Name file using “ALM” with 8-digit number and “I” to designate it as the intermediate file . (Ex: ALM00000008I.jpeg.) This is the Intermediate Image
- Change resolution to 72 ppi or 96 ppi as necessary. Save file and name using above naming scheme. Do not include the “I.” (Ex: ALM00000008.jpeg). This is the Access Image.
