Education&#8211; Tutored by sisters and neighbors; Male Institute, Glenville, Ala., 1858-1862. Family moved to Alabama and lived in Society Hill, Eufaula, and Midway.\u00a0 Served in Company B, 15th Alabama, Confederate States Army. Farmed at Midway, Bullock County, beginning at age eighteen. Alabama Legislator, 1884-1889.
